A few words about Shasta Trout’s Hosted trip to Fishing Bear Lodge: “We had a fantastic time. The rainbows and char were big, abundant, and fought hard. The guides were super knowledgeable, very accommodating, and made us feel right at home. Justin Johns is a superb host and the entire experience is down to earth – fully satisfying without expensive unnecessary frills. The location has some of the most visually striking scenery in Alaska. We were full of smiles all week, and are already planning to go back for more. I have been recommending Fishing Bear to all of our fly fishing friends.”-Tim Wykle and Judy Boucher, Trinidad, California
As always you were the quintessential ambassador, always focused and full of fun. You have a delightful manner of introducing the Magic demystified, the Craft defined and the Pleasure delivered. You have a great team of guides who worked as hard as I have ever seen a guide work with two separate put-ins and unique drifts in the same day. It paid off in spades. Kudos to Shasta Trout! Keep going – we’ll keep coming.”-Stephen Starke, San Rafael, California
You are the ‘quintessential guide’. A man who teaches the art and experience of fly fishing as well as anyone whom I have ever met. Craig, not to blow smoke, but you really have a gentle and amiable teaching quality that is excellent for assisting people in having the complete fly-fishing experience. If anyone asks me about a fly-fishing teacher or guide, I will recommend you, and your rivers!”-Shane Cunningham, Medford, Oregon
I have fished many places with many guides and I have to say you are the most complete guide I have fished with and boy do you know the river. Thanks for a excellent trip, you worked hard to make it great, I will be recommending you at each and every opportunity!”-Bill Leinheim, President Shasta Trinity Fly Fishers, Redding, California
