Windhaven Gliders is located thirty minutes north of Santa Barbara, California in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley . The mainstay of our business is Scenic Glider Rides which we provide to the general public.

The Santa Ynez Valley is one of the most picturesque gliding areas in the country. We are surrounded by mountainous national forests, beautiful Lake Cachuma and the valley itself is dotted with vineyards and world class horse facilities.

Scenic flights and Aerotows are available Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 until 5:00.

Gift Certificates and Merchandise can be ordered by phone, through this web site, by mail or in person at the gliderport 10-5:00 Saturday and Sunday

Days of operation are of course weather dependent.

Who Can Fly? Just about anyone...

All our flights carry one passenger with our certified pilot. There are no age restrictions, however people over about 6' 4" or over 240lbs. (dependent on pilot's weight) may not be able to fit in the glider. We have also had much success taking people that use wheelchairs. Any questions (805) 688-2517.

Our Flights

Jon_smallScenic Flight - Climbs to 2500 ft. above the lower ridges of the Santa Ynez Coastal Mountain Range. You'll see Lake Cachuma, the Santa Barbara Coastline, and by special request the Reagan Ranch. Flight time approximately 15 minutes. $135

Mountain Adventure Flight - Climbs above the highest peaks on the Coastal Mountain Range. Be sure to bring your camera, at 4000 feet you'll see some of the most breathtaking views available anywhere. Approximately 22 minutes. $210

Mile High Flight - The very best we have to offer, you will experience the Mountain Adventure Flight then continue climbing another 1280 feet. At 5280 feet the view is beyond description. Approximately 30 minutes. $265
