Scenic horseback riding just 25 minutes from downtown San Jose in the Saratoga foothills. Come enjoy a guided horseback ride through Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards and the Fremont Older Mid-Peninsula Open Space Preserve on the eastern slopes of the Santa Cruz Mountains facing San Jose. Our trails wander through vineyards and oak chaparral forests teeming with wildlife.

Garrod Farms, at a thousand-foot elevation, features spectacular views of San Francisco Bay and Santa Clara Valley.

Guided Horseback Riding | One hour trail rides | All rides are guided.
All riders must be 8 years old or older; at least 48 inches tall; weigh less than 225 lbs.
Monday-Friday: Reservations required, please call 408-867-9527.
Saturday/Sunday: No reservations necessary.

What to wear while riding
Tennis shoes and long pants(No clogs, sandals, platform shoes, high heels). We provide helmets for all riders (they are required).

For the Under 8's
Pony rides available
One-half hour rides
Each child must be accompanied by an adult.
Children must be old enough to sit-up with control and comfort.

Early Bird Specials
Saturday or Sunday enjoy an hour and a half trail ride at 8:30 am. Early Bird rides must be pre reserved and pre paid. Please call office at 408 867-9527.

Wine Ride

GarrodFarmsPic11Ride in the beautiful Saratoga Hills with views of the Bay Area at Garrod Farms, then stay a little longer for some wine tasting.  Our winery is open 7 days a week, and as long as your ride concludes before 5:00 pm you can visit the tasting room and try our award-winning wines. Wine Tasting Ride: On the last Sunday of the month, join a special group for an hour-long trail ride, then mosey over to the winery for wine tasting and a mini buffet. Reservations required no later than Saturday. $80 per person.  For more information, call 408-867-9527.
