California Flight Center (CFC) was formed in 2001 with one airplane and a desire to teach people how to fly that airplane. Even today, CFC operations build confidence through private, instrument, commercial, CFI, CFI II, and ATP training. Through the years, the company has undergone many changes, but our goal remains the same, safe & enjoyable flying in brand new Cessna aircraft.

Discovery Flight
Give the gift of Flight at California Flight Center!

Deciding to learn to fly is obviously the first step and often the most difficult one. Before you make the big decision to take flying lessons, you may want to take a discovery flight.

California Flight Center offers discovery flights for a very low price of $189. But, what does a discovery flight entail?? Well, we will schedule you with one of our highly experienced instructors in a Cessna 172SP G1000 or a Tampico Socata TB-9. The instructor will take you out to the aircraft and explain to you the basics of the aircraft and what to expect on your flight.

HELI3The acting pilot will come in, do a hangar tour, meet with one of our experienced instructors, have some ground instruction about how the plane works and what to expect during their flight. Once they have covered the bases they will go for a 45 minute aerial flight over the Queen Mary, Palos Verdes, the ocean and parts of Long Beach. When they get back they will received a signed log book.

This time is good towards the 40 hours needed to receive your private pilot’s license.  Feel free to bring a guest (for a small $10 fee)! They will be in the back seat. Take all the pictures you can to commemorate your first flight!! Please call with any questions you may have.

Only $189! Call us to register at (562) 490-2662
