Boats & Equipment
Our pontoon boat is a 22′ Landau. With a 140hp, 4 stroke engine, equipped with two Scotty down riggers, a Sonar (fish finder), radio and cd player. It also has two sun covers and very comfortable seats. It has a live well on board to keep fish alive and fresh. The cooler comes stocked with complimentary bottled waters and sodas with a snack tray near by. The Pontoon boat typically is a very smooth ride (weather depending) and well suited for families or groups up to ten. All boats are equipped with the required safety equipment (life vests, first aid kit, emergency light, etc.)
Our Bass Boat is a 21′ Ranger Z Comanche with a Mercury 250 hp two stroke outboard and a 36 volt Minnkota trolling motor to sneak up on the fish. In addition, the boat has two sonar (fish finders), two live wells, and a stereo with Sirus radio and an iPod connection. This boat is fully equipped with fishing rods, lures, bait, drinks, snacks and a friendly guide to make your fishing experience a memorable one. You will be safe and comfortable aboard any of the boats.
Just as the name describes, this Charter is open to everybody. The open charters are only done on the pontoon boat. This trip is offered at $85 a person, with a two person minimum to start a trip. Most of the time when your trip is underway there will be other people fishing alongside you. During the trip, there will be 8 lines in the water and you will rotate on reeling in the fish. If there are 6 people on the boat, you get every sixth fish to reel up. This works great for some people, but those who do not want to share the fish might be interested in a private charter. The only fishing done on the open charters is trolling for trout. This fishing is done with downriggers with the boat constantly moving and with a maximum of 8 fishing lines in the water at one time. If we have enough people to legally run 8 lines, we can.
Private Charter Pontoon Boat
Just as the name describes, the Pontoon boat is private for you and your family to enjoy and keep all the fish for yourselves. Aaron has two boats either one can be a private charter, depending on what is best for you and your group. Aaron’s pontoon boat is popular for families or groups of 10 that want to all fish together. Trolling with downriggers is the most popular way to fish, with a maximum of 8 fishing lines in the water at one time, if there are enough people and licenses. Remember anyone 16 years or older that is fishing needs to have a fishing license. parties of 10 people are fine; you just have to take turns reeling up the fish. When trolling with down riggers, all the fishing lines are fed out one at a time and this is done while the boat is moving slowly. With this style of fishing, there is no casting. The pontoon boat is not ideal to cast lures from, especially when there are a lot of people on board. Aaron’s pontoon boat has two sun covers which will impede casting ability. If you do not like trolling with downriggers and you want to have four people or more, we can throw anchor and bait fish. However, if your group is six or more, Aaron recommends trolling with the downriggers. If casting is what you want and there are three or less people, then check out the Private Charter on Aaron’s bass boat.
Private Charter Bass Boat
Although the name implies bass fishing we can cast for other species of fish such as: Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Crappie, Bluegill and Trout. This boat is all casting, no trolling, with three people maximum, this trip is a lot of fun. No matter your skill level and casting ability, Aaron is here to assist you with any problems you might have.
