To ensure your comfort on the river, we encourage the
following:
Dress in layers, synthetic micro-fiber recommended.
Start with a swimsuit…the water is clean and clear
and warms up in summer for great swimming. (We provide dry bags for extra
gear.)
Wear shoes that can get wet…river sandals, reef
walkers, or tennis shoes (No bare feet please!)
Bring a hat with a brim or sunvisor
Bring water in a plastic container
Come with a sense of fun and adventure!

Summer Moonlight Flotillas
Since 1994, Adventure Rents has been offering both public and
private guided summer moonlight flotillas, on or near the full
moons of summer, complete with catered dinners on the river beach.
We recommend some prior boating experience before paddling on a
nighttime flotilla. Children are allowed on an individual basis,
please call for more information.

In
late afternoon, about an hour before sunset, we set up tables,
chairs and benches around a large fireplace on the river beach. A
local caterer provides a delicious picnic dinner complete with
dessert and soft beverages. After dinner, around sunset, our
experienced guides lead the group (wearing glow rings for both fun
and safety) into the Gualala River estuary towards the setting
sun. |
| We
often stop at the far end of the estuary to look at the final
colors of the sunset over the ocean. Boaters stretch their legs
prior to the return paddle and sometimes a game of glow ring
"frisbee" ensues. Meanwhile, the full (or almost full)
moon rises over the coastal ridges. Paddling back to the takeout
is lit by the moon...the river transformed into a magical,
shimmering mirror. Boaters return to the take-out beach, now lined
with glowing torches and gather around the warmth of the fire for
river tales, music and hot beverages. |

Advance
reservations required! $60 Adults includes Adventure Rents boat
rental and dinner including gratuity. Boating only at regular
2-hour rates. Bring your own boat -$5 participation fee. Weather
and river conditions permitting, the following Adventure Rents
Moonlight Flotillas are scheduled for the following dates in 2006

offers a wide selection of watercraft for all ages and skill
levels.

CANOES:
Our 16’ Mad River canoes have 2 paddling seats and room for an
additional 2 passengers with gear. Passengers are provided with cushions
for sitting or kneeling.
KAYAKS:
Single Kayaks: We offer comfortable, stable, open cockpit models by
Wilderness Systems for all sizes of paddlers, kids to large or tall
adults.
TANDEM KAYAKS: All of our
tandems accommodate 2 adults, and some models can take an additional small
child on a snap-in kiddie seat between the two fixed seats.
Note: We allow children 8 and over to paddle solo with parent or
guardian’s permission in a group with at least one adult. Children under
8 may ride in canoes or tandems with an adult.
We have life jackets to fit toddlers on up.

We accept Cash, Checks (with ID), Traveler’s Checks, MasterCard

For
the Ocean…
Adventure Rents does not rent kayaks for ocean use. However, we are happy
to recommend outfitters on the Sonoma and Mendocino Coast who do.
Reservation
Policies
• Reservations
are recommended to secure the right equipment for your adventure
and may be made by phone, e-mail or 'snail' mail. Customers with
reservations are served before walk-ups!
• Advance reservations are required for groups of 8 or more
and will also require a deposit or CC guarantee.
• Advance reservations may be guaranteed with valid CC or
payment of deposit.

Cancellation
Policy:
• Cancellations
24-48 hrs. ahead = 10% fee for any reservations we’re not able
to rebook.
• Cancellations 24 hours or less = 20% for any reservations not
rebooked.
• No shows of booked reservations = full price will be charged.
• Cancellations on the part of Adventure Rents due to inclement
weather* or adverse river conditions are exempt, and any deposits
paid will be refunded.
*This applies to Adventure Rents closing due to
weather. If we’re open, the weather is considered good enough to
boat and our other cancellation policies apply.

How
it Works…
- If possible, make a
reservation to ensure the right boats and equipment for your adventure
Arrive at our booth about 10 minutes prior to your scheduled
reservation to complete registration and pay by cash, check or credit
card.
- We will fit all the members of your party in pfd’s (life jackets).
Approved Pfd’s must be worn at all times by all minors when in
Adventure Rents watercraft.
- We include dry bags in our rentals for packing lunch, extra clothing
or other items. After boating, please remove all items (or debris)
from the drybags and notify our staff if additional cleaning will be
necessary.
- Drive to the parking lot, park and lock your vehicle, being sure to
bring the items for your river adventure. Walk to the launch site (or
wait for the shuttle van).
- At the launch site our staff will assist with loading and launching
the boats and will gladly provide instruction to beginning paddlers.
Boats are available by reservation year-round, weather and river
conditions permitting. In season, our booth is open daily for launch times
10 am -4 pm. Earlier or later
launch times are by advance reservation only!

been operating its kayak and canoe livery on the peaceful and pristine
Gualala River that forms the boundary between Sonoma and Mendocino
Counties.
The Gualala River is backed by thousands of acres of
private forest. Unhurried and undeveloped along its entire length, the
Gualala watershed supports an abundance of wildlife, including osprey,
river otter and numerous waterfowl, providing a perfect setting for safe,
self-guided paddling, past redwood forests, salt marshes and sandy
beaches.
